Our Environmental Impact
Our Environmental Impact
54,000+ kg diverted. 540,000 kg CO2 avoided. One materials recovery operation proving that circular is possible.
Since 2019, Rochelle Chong Designs has been intercepting materials headed for landfill. Textiles, furniture, home goods. We give them new life through resale, restoration, upcycling, and community donation. This is our story.
How We Operate
50% Resale
Materials circulate through Poshmark, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, 5 retail storefronts, and artisan markets. Vintage and preloved pieces find new owners. A leather jacket, a dresser, a textile that deserves another chapter.
35% Upcycled & Restored
Textiles transformed into wearables, bags, and art. Furniture refinished and repaired. Home decor restored to beauty. Skilled, intentional work that commands higher value.
10% Donated
Shelters, community members, and personal use. Materials go where they're needed most, without barrier.
5% Discarded
Only items truly beyond repair. Everything else circulates. We've proven this works for 7 years.
Our Acquisition Channels
Estate Sales & Liquidations
We attend estate sales acquiring textiles, furniture, and home goods that would otherwise be discarded or require costly disposal.
Professional Decluttering & Cleanout Services
We provide professional cleanout services for residents and businesses. Instead of landfill or disposal fees, materials reach us. We acquire, restore, circulate.
Community Donations & Partnerships
Ongoing relationships with community members, nonprofits, and organizations who know RCD will find purpose for every piece.
Garage Sales & Community Sources
Continuous acquisition from garage sales and community connections: 7,700-10,000 kg acquired annually.
The Impact (Since 2019)

Why This Matters
Most sustainable fashion starts with purchasing. Buy vintage, preloved, or secondhand instead of new. Extend the lifecycle of pieces you love. This is valuable and necessary.
RCD operates upstream. We intercept materials at the disposal point and prove they have value. This is infrastructure for circular economy.
We are a for-profit social enterprise. We generate revenue, create employment, maintain creative practice. We scale because the model works.
How We Measure Impact
Our 54,000 kg represents materials recovered across resale platforms (Poshmark, Shopify, eBay, Etsy), 5 retail storefronts, professional decluttering services, estate sales, and community partnerships. We track every source and where materials go.
We use industry-standard factors: 10 kg CO2 per kg material, 80 liters water per kg. These numbers are auditable. We stand behind them.
What's Next
As we grow, we're exploring new ways to scale this operation. The model works. The demand is there. We're figuring out how to do more of what we do without losing what makes it work in the first place.
Worn before. Loved again. Made into something more.
Every piece has a story. We make sure it doesn't end in a landfill.
